Born August 1, 1555, Sir Edward Kelley was a renowned occultist and spirit/angel medium who was also reputed to be able to transmute base metals into gold.
Kelley is perhaps best known for his association with John Dee, a Welsh mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, occultist, and consultant to Queen Elizabeth I.[i]
Kelley claimed to be able to communicate with angels using an angelic language called Enochian, though the truth of the history of this language was highly disputed, with many believing that Kelley invented the language himself. Dee, however, believed that the Enochian dictation, which was unlike any of Kelley’s own writings, proved that Kelley was actually in communication with angelic entities.
